The Steelman Eurocross
is the undisputed ruler of lightweight steel cyclo-cross frames.
Its design is revered by many (and copied by a few) for its precise
handling, light weight, and durability. Built from our magical
blend of Dedacciai 14.5 heat treated steel, the Eurocross has
earned a healthy pedigree including six National cross titles.
The design basis is the Euro cyclo-cross racing style, enhanced
with input form several U.S. cross stars and plenty of Steelman
technical know-how. The result is a pure cross racing frame that
handles transitional terrain (and singletrack) like a thoroughbred.
The Eurocross is light so portaging won't wear you down, and
its durable design will take you over the obstacles longer than
most. The ride character is lively, nimble, and stable. In essence,
it's a road frame with increased bottom bracket height, a slightly
longer wheelbase, clearance for 38MM knobby
tires, and cantilever brakes.
Integral to the Eurocross frame is its fork. The Steelman
cross fork is a work of structural art, designed to ride smoothly
and stay on track when it's rough or muddy. We build every one
of our steel forks in house using techniques and materials developed
to withstand the rigors of cross riding. We also recommend the
Ouzo Pro Cross and the Alpha Q CX carbon forks as lighter alternative.
These forks have proven themselves to be smooth riding, durable,
and of course, light.
Every Eurocross is now built to order so we can fine tune
the geometry and ride to each customers requirements.
If you take the cyclo-cross season seriously and you simply
have to ride the best, pick up a Eurocross. Average frame weight
is 3.6 pounds. frame specs
